Boost your Social Media Sparkle with These 2 Tips

 Using social media for business is such a powerful tool but since there is a lot of noise out there and to be completely honest there is a lot of spam and ‘robot-like' feeling businesses out there, I wanted to share some tips with you that are surely going to help you Sparkle in your social media efforts.

There are of course more..but these are the TOP four that come to my mind that I want to share with you today!

1.  Be Authentic – Be Real – Don't be like a Robot

In case you need a newsflash, people connect best with people. So when you are making posts for your business page, don't try and do so as if you are a suit and tie with no personality. (I know many people that wear suit and ties that have spunky personality…but you know what I mean).. Be You! Most likely your authentic self won't be the same as someone else's self so make sure that your consistent with your branding for your business. If you are spunky, fun, and kind, make sure that comes across in the way that you tweet, post or connect with people on social media.   If you have a dry sense of humor and love art, make sure that comes across in your social media too.  At the end of the day, it is far easier being consistent when you are being true to who you are. There aren't lines to memorize. There aren't guidelines to always follow. Just be who you are and that will help you tow the long haul for using social for the growth of your brand.  It's also important to note that if you have someone else doing your social media, that you convey to them your personality and your branding voice so that they can come in and keep your social media strategy consistent with the company's approach to doing social.

2. Follow Though – Do What You Say You Are Going to Do

Ouch! It really is that simple. People are so often disappointed with customer service no matter where they turn.  So let's not add any more sadness to an already declining situation. Wow people. Don't just settle for the bare minimum. Go above and beyond but definitely do what you say you will do. Maybe it is a phone call, or a task you said you would take care of. People will remember and they'll associate those great character traits with you when your name comes up. Don't you want people thinking great thoughts of you when you come to mind?
