Podcast Episode #60: How Mission Trips Can Make Kingdom Impacts (and it can start with you)
07-24-2018
Does attending a mission trip intimidate you or feel too out of reach?
Did you know that going on a mission trip is another way you can have a kingdom impact, just like you desire to have in your business?
At the time of this post, I am 43 years old.
I have never been on a formal mission trip.
Yes, in high school I did go attend working at a youth camp and volunteered for one month in upstate New York. Technically, I was doing mission work within the US, but since they called it Summer Staff, I'll say it wasn't formally a mission trip.
And quite honestly, it never really came upon my mind to be interested to go as an adult.
That is until about two years ago.
I feel that God began a work in me that made me more and more interested in the idea of going to another country and doing a mission trip. After continued prayer and talking with my husband, we decided that it would be a great opportunity to create a new tradition in our family that we'd go on a mission trip with our children when they turn 13 years old.
That is my daughter above with the red hair (age 13) that joined me on this mission trip to Guatemala and it was a great experience.
Join me on this episode of the podcast as I interview several of the people who I served alongside in Guatemala. Hear from their perspective why they chose to go on a mission trip and how serving others in this capacity has changed them.
Don't know another language? Have a teen that may want to go with you? Never really heard first hand from someone that has gone on a mission trip? Listen to this episode of the Business, Jesus and Sweet Tea podcast to be encouraged and inspired on how God can use all of us to make a kingdom impact.
