Celebrating 5 Years of the Podcast

Wow – 2017 feels both yesterday and a lifetime ago when we first began the Business, Jesus, Sweet Tea Podcast.

I'm so grateful that God placed on my heart the idea to begin a podcast!

I want to do a quick shoutout to some key people who have been tremendous in helping me with the growth and sustainability of my podcast.

First off – Lydia Saylor – when God asked me to do a podcast I told Him I had no idea how to do that. I went to Lydia and mentioned what I was wanting to do. She smiled and promptly told me she had years of experience in the podcast world and knew all the bits and pieces of what needed to be done to get the podcast going, as well as, publishing an episode each week. Wow, how God.

Secondly, my family. They've been amazing when I tell them I need to run and record a podcast episode real quick before we leave for family vacation. Their support means the world to me.

And last, but definitely not least, all of YOU – my amazing listeners! Whether you've tuned into the last episode or have been with us from the beginning, I want to know that each and every listen means so much to me.

My prayer is – and always has been – God, use me how you see fit. I'm grateful that He has chosen me to be a digital missionary in the year 2022 helping Kingdom businesses and non-profits thrive using social media.

Now that all of that is out of the way, I want to talk to talk to you about being a lurker. Do you know what I mean when I use that word? I'm not talking about being an introvert. I'm talking about being someone who hides and stays behind the scenes when you're meant to be more visible with your business.

When you choose to be a lurker, you're choosing to remain hidden. I don't know about you, but I don't want my business acumen to be known as someone who is a lurker or one who isn't willing to show up and put themselves out there with what God has given you.

Are you showing up? How are you doing that?

Let's replace the word ‘lurking' with some different words. Let's focus on being sustainable, thriving in the digital space, owning who you are and the gifts and talents that God has given.

Let's remember that we need to show up in such a way that you earn the right to be top of mind of your customers and clients.
