Batching Content Creation for Social Media

I'm sure this is not the first time you're ever hearing the b-word in marketing. Ya know, batching!

Everyone talks about and everyone, it seems, acts like it's the most simple thing in the world to do.

But I've found that knowing where to start when it comes to batching your content creation for social media can oftentimes be the biggest hurdle.

So in today's episode, I'm talking about 5 simple steps that I use for my own social media content creation as well as for my done-for-you clients.

Here are 5 simple steps to batching content for your social media efforts :

1. Put time on your calendar to create the content : physically putting a time on my calendar for this has been a game changer. It holds me accountable and ensures that my calendar doesn't fill up with other important things that would ultimately keep me from this important task. When it comes to finding the best cadence, there truly isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of approach. Find a schedule or approach that works best for you and feels doable. The goal is consistency. If it's not something that allows for you to be consistent, then change the plan or process until it does.
2. Create a brainstorming document for content ideas : feeling like you're starting from scratch every time you sit down to create content can be a huge barrier. I have an ongoing ‘brainstorming document' that allows me to quickly jot down ideas when they come and then I refer back to the document for ideas when I'm in the creation mode.
3. Have no distractions : this one goes without saying. Don't be too busy looking at everyone else's Instagram feed and not creating for your own.
4. Be authentically you : This should go without saying but being true to you, who you are, what you're passionate about, it makes the decision to follow or not follow you super easy for your audience.
5. Actually schedule the content – ya gotta execute! : Creating is only half the task, ya gotta actually post the content too!
